  19. We have several problems with Rockwell based chipsets.  We highly
  20. recommend that you get the "Aptiva Service CD" from Aptiva service.
  21. There is a modem level on that CD that works around several of the
  22. V.34 spec violations by Rockwell.  These spec violations are
  23. particular severe in their first generation chip sets released early
  24. last year.  If you think you are connecting to a service provider
  25. using Rockwell chip sets, we recommend adding "*TH6%E1" to your init
  26. strings on the Mwave modem.

  28. We also know of one problem that we have with USR modems during rate 
  29. renogiation. We have been working with USR to resolve. In general, 
  30. however, we have excellent connectivity with USR based modems.

  32. We have no known problems with Motorola modems.

  34. We found one problem with AT&T chipset that is only present in one of 
  35. their upgrade flashes. We worked with AT&T and worked aroung the 
  36. problem in the service CD level of code and AT&T released new flash 
  37. upgrades to their customers as well. The most common OEM with this 
  38. chipset is MultiTech. If you own a multitech and suspect you might 
  39. have a problem, you could contact Multitech for a flash upgrade. The 
  40. problem is known as "Missing S_BAR during Phase 4".
